Hardthorn RD-TURN RIGHT onto Nunwood Rd-LEFT onto Irongray RD-Milton-Black Brae-over bridge then LEFT onto Holm Rd-TURN RIGHT onto b729 towards Wallaceton-TURN RIGHT at Maxwelltown Church-TURN RIGHT up to Clone Hill- take second LEFT in Penpont up the Marrburn Climb – after around 3 miles turn RIGHT (red gravel junction) into Drumlanrig Castle grounds – follow road by the front of the castle – descend on road towards Burnhead (keep left at road fork) – turn LEFT back onto A702 and continue to Thornhill – at junction with A76 in Thornhill turn RIGHT - at roundabout TURN LEFT towards golf club - continue on road to Gatelawbridge- after exiting Gatelawbridge TURN LEFT at junction heading north -after approx 1 mile TURN LEFT *picture ref 1* and NEXT RIGHT *pic ref 2* up towards Mitchellslacks - continue on road for 6 miles - at Lock Ettrick Junction TURN LEFT towards AE - prior to entering Ae village TURN RIGHT signposted Locharbriggs - Quarry Rd -Locharbriggs
