QoS Arena - Out of Town – Terregles - Shawhead – Routin Bridge – Milton – Dunscore – Maxwelton Chapel – Clone Rd – Penpont – Marrburn – Drumlanrig – Burnhead – Thornhill – Cample – Loch Ettrick – Ae – Kirkton – Locharbriggs – Dumfries.
Detailed Route 
QoS Arena – caution traffic when leaving town – Lochfield Rd – Terregles St – Terregles Rd – Terregles climb – Shawhead – turn sharp RIGHT as you enter Shawhead towards Routin Bridge – caution sharp LEFT bend on bridge - at junction turn LEFT towards Dunscore on Irongray Rd – Milton – Holm Rd – B729 – after 2½ miles turn RIGHT towards Maxwelton Chapel – at junction with A702 turn RIGHT onto Clone Rd (A702) – take second LEFT in Penpont up the Marrburn Climb – after around 3 miles turn RIGHT into Drumlanrig Castle grounds – follow road by the front of the castle – descend on road towards Burnhead (keep left at road fork) – turn LEFT back onto A702 and continue to Thornhill – at junction with A76 in Thornhill turn RIGHT – continue south on A76 – turn LEFT on road signposted Cample – continue through Cample keeping right – sharp left turn at Closeburn school then keep right to join road to Loch Ettrick – turn LEFT at the junction to head towards Loch Ettrick – Gilchristland Climb to Loch Ettrick – Descend to Ae – turn RIGHT in Ae towards Locharbriggs – at the crossroads (after about 3½ miles) turn RIGHT towards Kirkmahoe – watch sharp twisty descent to junction – turn LEFT towards Kirkton – join A701 for Dumfries and home.
